• Peter Aird

  Peter Aird

  Peter Aird has 30 years’ experience as an oilfield drilling, well engineering and operations specialist. He initially trained and served as a marine engineer with major shipping companies. Peter then transferred his skills to the oil and gas industry and has worked for 30 years in the forefront of drilling technology applications in various major operating and global consultancy positions.
  
  Since 1980, he has supervised the drilling of oil and gas wells globally in new frontier exploration, appraisal and development areas. His project experience was gained in early offshore UK deepwater and HPHT wells, followed by further exploration in North America, South East Asia, Norway, the Black Sea, Europe and West Africa.
  
  During the last 5 years, Peter has been employed in senior specialist drilling and engineering roles with major UK drilling operating companies including Kerr McGee, Maersk, Marathon Oil Uk, and Cairn Energy PLC. His expertise is refined to a a variety of subsea, horizontal, platform in-fill, HPHT, and partner-related deepwater Exploration projects.

  Peter Aird holds an MSC in Drilling Engineering from The Robert Gordon University, is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council. He actively participates in several industry forums. Peter has also shared his experience by delivering deepwater training and producing technical and operational treatises on oil well design, construction, engineering and drilling operations.
